Types of Licenses in Dubai Mainland

A commercial license is owned by 49% by the expat and 51% by a local sponsor. Expats will get full authority to operate the business and day to day activities. Through power of attorney, the UAE national sponsor will transfer responsibility to the foreign owner to operate the business without the local sponsor. A yearly fixed income will be shared with the UAE national.
A general trading license allows the businesses in the Dubai mainland perform all of their trading activities under one license. General trading companies can operate business in a variety of industries from mechanics, food, and chemicals.
Businesses wanting operate service-oriented activities can opt for the DED Professional License. This license is also suitable for skilled professionals holding a degree and having industry experience in a specific profession. This license allows 100% ownership for foreign investors, permitting them the advantages of a sole ownership. But it is still mandatory to appoint a UAE national as a local service agent to complete the judicial formalities.
